Reflections on Yesterday's Challenge:
Today's Topic:
We all got our stuff going on. I mean there's 7 billion people on this planet and climbing who all have their own journey to travel on. Our bodies are microcosms of life, we have a huge gambit of emotions, memories, opportunities and choices. Where's your attitude at? Are in a quandary? Are you feeling anxious? Are you over joyed? Ecstatic? Perplexed? Scared? Sorry? In Pain? Are you your own cheerleader? Do you ra ra you self onward or are you waiting for someone else to do it?
You read that I was thinking about pulling this blog because I wasn't certain that it was making an impact in peoples lives? My attitude was quite negative. I mean Rome wasn't built in a day and it took a while for it to get it's mastery of architecture and majestic monuments. I was initially using the mindset of there's a problem, rather than a challenge. Viewing the experience as a challenge I focused my attention on a positive outcome. I had to renegotiate my mindset and my attitude to where I was and what I wanted.
It's true. Attitude is everything. What attitude are you bringing to the day? Attitude governs the way you see the world and how the world sees you? It's your decision. You mind is in charge and you are at the controls. What is you inner voice saying to you? You are able to be conscious of your inner dialogue and you can steer that internal voice with positive direction. Start saying yep, I'm feeling fantastic, even if you aren't. Have you ever been in a supermarket and the cashier says how's your day? I betcha nine times out of ten you say, it's good or ok, even if it's not. I'm sure you don't launch into a diatribe about how crappy your day is, as I'm sure they'll automatically tune out. I'm sure other people do say that, but generally I think a lot of us say, yeah ok or it's equivalent. So why not start saying, fan-bloody-tastic thanks and how's your day going? Try it on for size. Even if you are feeling A1 crappy. Ask yourself is this attitude helping you right now or could you guide it in a new direction?
We all have tremendous potential and faced with the challenges of life we need a positive attitude. If we care about ourselves, we've got to accept responsibility for our emotions and feelings. For instance, no one makes us angry, we just let loose with emotions we have inside of us, from past experiences and situations. We surrender control of our attitude. The effect of your attitude will determine how you grow as an individual for better or worse. Which do you want? Do you need an attitude adjustment?
