Reflections on Yesterday's challenge:
Todays' topic:
An excerpt from, Creative Visualisation by Shakti Gwain,
"I'm too lazy, I don't have enough money, it doesn't exist, I've tried before and it never worked, mother said I couldn't, I don't want to, It's too hard, I'm afraid to, John wouldn't like it, it's too much fun....." Do you find yourself a saying these to yourself? The reason you can't have what you want are the very words you say to yourself. Think on that for a moment. Ha I know I did, wow that houseboat is expensive and no I don't want to clean the kitchen today but kinda have to. I'd much rather be writing. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning either, but had things to do. Are you resisting change by stopping yourself with phrases like those above? Do you have aspirations, dreams? Are you resisting undertaking a task or too afraid to contemplate x because of y? Do you stop yourself from living because other people wouldn't like you choices? Do you have an invention you'd like to create? What's something fun you've been putting off? Can you try again? What's stopping you from pushing though the mind conversation and changing the script?
Our challenge today:
As you go about your day listen to what you thoughts are. If you find yourself thinking or saying one of those phrases push through. What is the actual reason you stop yourself? Is it plausible? Realistic or could you perhaps just as Nike says, Do it? What is one area of life you have been resisting? Take a piece of paper and write, I can't have what I want because.......don't take too long and don't be serious about it. Write down as much as you want. This will show you what limitations you place on yourself. Come back tomorrow and let us know how you went and how you felt.
