Reflections on Yesterday's Challenge:
How's you go with yesterday's challenge: A New Way to Think About Today? Did you do something for you? Did you take a step to get you to where you're going? I did a few things, I watched and listened to a video about a self employment opportunity I'm considering. I also wrote to the people who create the templates for this blog and enquired why all the dates are up the wazoo. My settings are all correct, but it's posting my writings at obscure dates. I then have to manipulate the dates to get them to post as new. I shall get a reply back soon, an annoying plot twist. I also sat out the back for half and hour and absorbed myself in a book. Today, I took the time to look at different themes for this blog. I did like the last theme but noticed it had no sidebars, which I wanted. I'm not adept at computer code to add a side bar in in (yet), so I took half and hour or so to try on different ones. This is what I decided on (for now). What did you do to look at today in a new way?
A quote from FB page, 'The Secret', " If you parrot negative things and squawk about the things you don't love, you are literally jailing yourself, like a parrot in a cage. Every time you talk about what you don't love, your adding a bar to the cage and you're locking yourself away from all the good. People who live great lives talk more about what they love. By doing this they gain unlimited access to all the good in life, and they are as free as the birds that soar in the sky." What do you think about this? Do you think it's a bit pie in the sky to say that people who talk more about what they love gain unlimited access to all the good in life?
Today's Topic:
I liked the concept of talking about what you love and less about what you don't love. It got me thinking what do I love. I love my family and friends, I love that I live in Australia, I love that I'm alive, I love that I'm learning about myself, I love that I'm changing my mind about things and not rehashing previous mindsets. It also got me thinking what is it I love about me. Well we can all be critical of ourselves can't we? Everyone has their faults (or that's what we might be told) but what is it I truly love about me? Well, I love that I'm curious about life, I love that I'm equip with a brain to research as this is one of my passions. Give me something to research and I'll find the answer( or try to). I also love to write, my grammar could do with an overhaul. Yes, I've got to sit down and learn the s, 's and s' rule. I just don't get it. If anyone can explain simply I'd be grateful. I love my body (I never used to), but recently I stopped trying to be so critical of what I look like and have started saying be damned what other people think. Lol I won't go out in public showing off my muffin top whilst I wear a belly top, that's not what I meant, but if I like something I'll wear it. I have a beautiful friend who challenged me to try some new styles of clothes, well thanks I say to her. I'm wearing shorts for the first time in years. Mind you, I have to shave my entire legs to wear them lol. Don't want to scare people with mohair stockings now do I? I love my hair, it's got a few greys. I knew my hair was wavy/curly but recently I just let it be so. I used to straighten it every day. Yes every day. Now, I just fluff it up with some mousse and off I go so easy. I love to blog and connect and network with people around the world. I could go on and on and on, but will stop short with I'm becoming more self aware of thinking in a postive way first or finding it rather than squawk about the things I don't like. Of course as always it's a work in progress.
Our Challenge Today:
This challenge has two parts:
a) Think about what it is you love your about life and especially what you love about yourself. Be kind. List these mentally, on a sheet of paper, journal or on a computer page. Think honestly and deeply about this and honour what you are.
b) Go 24 hours without voicing what you don't love and try and substitute whatever it is with loving and positive words.
